What did they say?!

After Heanor Town FC extended their unbeaten run with a fine performance against visitors Parkgate FC, it was down to Manager Glen Clarence and Coach Steve Huntington to share their thoughts on the match.
It is fair to say that Heanor Town FC are taking nothing for granted with both frank with their evaluation of the position the club are stood after their 3-0 in front of an unusually small crowd of 137.
Clarence shared “I think we were slow to start today, the lads were told before the game how hard it would be against a resolute side. The most important thing for me is the three points but that is now three clean sheets in a row, it shows what we are doing, we are solid, organised and we try to play a bit.”
“It wasn’t our greatest performance of the season but it is three nil and three points. Everyone is happy.”
“We obviously had a shuffle in the pack but these few games are the games I worry about. We can prepare mentally for games like Worksop Town FC and the others near the top. I don’t want to see us become complacent, if we stick to our game and play football as well as we did against Cleethorpes and we did today we will win games.”
Huntington, a man who stands by the simple logic that if you don’t concede then you won’t lost, added “We did well, the conditions were difficult with a strong wind and a bobbly pitch. It was always going to take the team a while to adjust.”
“I thought the team did very well, we looked absolutely solid at the back as we have done for the last three games. If we can carry that through the final games then we should be in a good position.”
Marc Stryzewski, a player who has filled a number of positions in the team already this season across midfield and the defence shared his pleasure in his recent inclusion in the side, “I’ve played a bit this season and I’m happy to play anywhere, obviously I thought Ross (Henshaw) was a good player and didn’t want to see him go but I’ve found a spot at centre back and I’m trying to cement it. Regarding the performance today I think out of everyone Ollie Naylor stood out for me, he showed great guts stepping up to take the penalty and we were all gutted he hit the post. He showed us what he’s about and still tried to create after the miss.”
