Ingles down the Lions
By Heanor Town Football Club
Heanor Town 0-2 Ingles
On Saturday at a cold Town Ground Heanor fell to a 2-0 defeat against Ingles. After two recent excellent victories against Graham St Prims and an undefeated Sherwood, Heanor appeared a bit lethargic and behind the energy of recent games.
Despite early Heanor pressure Ingles took the lead on 7 minutes Rob Mulonga hitting a low shot that despite a clearance went over the line.Cory Bowler then hit a free kick from the right which was grabbed by Ingles Keeper Oliver Buchanan.
Jamie Sleigh then produced a neat turn in the area from a right wing cross and his low shot was superbly punched out by Buchanan. The rest of the 1st half developed into a stalemate as Heanor were unable to break down a resolute Ingles defence.
In the second half Heanor soon had Ingles under pressure a good passing move ending with Jordan Ball shooting just wide from the edge of the area.
Sam Birks was then replaced by Joss Walmsley as Heanor attempted to change things. As Heanor kept pressing Connor Bennett of Ingles nearly equalised for Heanor heading the ball back to goal with his keeper out of position but the ball went just wide of the post.
Cory Bowler was replaced by Ben Cartwright for Heanor. Jevin Seaton creates Heanors next chance heading down for Jamie Sleigh whose shot from inside the area went over the bar as a defender closed him down. Hammond then shot just wide for Ingles as they attempted to Increase their lead. This was followed by Kyle Fowkes heading over the bar as Ingles were now finding some room upfront.
Oliver Pratt then hit a free kick over the bar as Heanor attempted to equalise.
Just as it seemed the game was going to end in a narrow 1-0 defeat for Heanor, Kyle Fowkes scored on 86 minutes after being left free in the area to complete Ingles victory.
