The Lions were humbled as their mini-revival came to an end by a determined Graham St Prims.
Heanor started the game slowly and found themselves one goal behind midway through the first-half when Shaun Roulston tripped Matt Harris in the penalty area and George Lynam sent Wayne White the wrong way to give Prims the advantage.
The hosts’ lead was doubled five minutes later White misjudged the flight of a free-kick to leave Oliver Ball the chance to nod home unopposed.
The Lions attempted to gain a foothold in the second-half but were denied by a Graham St Prims side more intent on disrupting the flow of the game with niggly fouls.
During a ten-minute spell in the second-half it looked as though Heanor would make the breakthrough needed to get themselves back in the game, but neither Jamie Sleigh nor Sam Birks could convert when presented with opportunities.
Frustration was quickly growing amongst the players and Blaine Hancock and Jake Carlisle were both cautioned as referee William Booth was forced to separate players on more than one occasion.
The final nail in the coffin fell four minutes from time when the Lions were caught on the counter attack and Brad Scard tapped in at the far post.
It was nothing more than Prims deserved and despite the second-half antics, they dominate proceedings.
